Olympic Valley, CA – This weekend, beginner skiers and riders can take their first turns on the snow at Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows for just $30 including a beginner lift ticket, rental equipment and lessons during the California ski resorts’ 13th Annual Learn to Ski and Snowboard Weekend. Slated for Saturday and Sunday, Learn to Ski and Snowboard Weekend is specifically tailored to beginners (ages 3 and older) who want to learn a new snow sport.
Learn to Ski and Snowboard Weekend at Squaw and Alpine offers unique learning stations for adult and teen participants at the resorts near Lake Tahoe, meaning skiers and riders can start at one station to learn a specific skill and progress onto the next station once they have mastered it. Since everyone learns at a different pace, beginners can spend as much or as little time at each station as they choose throughout the day. Lessons will be offered continuously from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
In addition to the teen and adult lessons offered at both resorts, Squaw Valley is offering $30 kids beginner lesson packages including lift ticket and equipment rentals at Squaw Kids and Alpine Kids. Kids 13 and under can take either a morning or an afternoon lesson. Morning lessons registration is from 8:15 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. with pick up at 12:15 p.m., and afternoon lesson registration is prior to 1 p.m. with pick up at 3:30 p.m. Reservations for kids lessons are required, and can be made by calling Squaw Kids at (530) 452-7225 or Alpine Kids via the reservations center at (530) 452-4349 or (800) 403-0206.
Separated only by a narrow mountain valley near Lake Tahoe’s North Shore, Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows joined forces in November 2011, bringing the two ski resorts under common ownership.
