Boy Dies in Skiing Accident at Copper

Copper Mountain, CO – A 13-year-old boy died on Friday on the same beginner run at Copper Mountain that left a 13-year-old girl seriously injured less than two weeks ago.

Copper Mountain Ski Patrol was notified of the incident on Vein Glory around 1 p.m. today. Tristan Bartlett, of Houston, Tex., was transported to Saint Anthony’s Copper Mountain Medical Clinic, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

The circumstances of the incident are not yet clear, although a Copper Mountain spokesperson indicated that the boy was not wearing a helmet.

Vein Glory, a novice run from the top of Copper’s Union Creek chairlift, was the scene of a Dec. 23 incident that seriously injured an unidentified 13-year-old girl.
