Lake Placid, NY – World Cup Aerials Veteran Emily Cook, of Belmont, Mass., jumped to a third place finish Friday at the USANA Freestyle Cup in Lake Placid.

“I’m really happy to be on the podium again and even more so because it’s here in Lake Placid. The incredible support structure that we’ve got here makes it feel like home,” said Cook. “And to have such a big team here and such a young team cheering me on shows the depth and future of our sport.”

Cook threw three stunning jumps with solid landings keeping her above the cut the entire night.  Mangtao Xu and Zongyang Jia, both of China continued their winning streaks and possession of the Yellow Bib.

Madison Olsen, of Park City, Utah, was the only other U.S. woman to make it through the qualifying round, as did Dylan Ferguson, of Amesbury, Mass., and New Jersey’s Mike Rossi for the men. Olsen and Rossi both had career best World Cup finishes, taking ninth and eighth, respectively, and Ferguson ended the event in 12^th.

Canada, which typically fields a strong aerials team, was shut out of Friday night’s finals.
