Mt. Abram to Host Maine Tele Fest and White Grass Festival This Saturday

Greenwood, ME – On Saturday, the Maine Tele Fest is returning to where it all began, at western Maine’s Mt. Abram ski area. Hosted by New England Telemark, this yearly event will include free demos and clinics, as well a big gear sale and gate race with prizes.

Tele Fest attendees should visit the normal Mt. Abram ticket booth and purchase a regular $49 lift ticket, then head on over to the festival tent and register for the festival, sign up for clinics and purchase raffle tickets. Those who want to try free telemark equipment demos may then head over to the gear trailer and get some gear. Those opting to demo will need a driver’s license or some other form of identification to leave at the trailer.  Many key telemark companies will be represented.

New England Telemark is also selling its demo gear at the festival — boots, skis, bindings, for both adults and kids. For more information and a list of events visit www.netelemark.com/maine_tele_fest.htm.

In conjunction with the Tele Fest, Mt. Abram will be hosting its fifth annual White Grass festival on Saturday. Billed as the coolest Bluegrass event in New England, four bands will be performing in the Loose Boots Lounge from 11 a.m. until 11 p.m.

“It’s destined to be a knee-slapping good time,” says Matty Leach, Mt. Abram’s director of events. The line up includes Tricky Britches, Milltown Roadshow, Cumberland Crossing, and Jerks of Grass.

Mt. Abram is located 62 miles from Portland, off Highway 26 in western Maine.
