Kid-O-Rama Returns to Squaw Valley

Squaw Valley, CA – Squaw Valley comes alive beginning this Friday with a week-long kids’ extravaganza. Big trucks, street parties, balloon animals, skating parties and kids’ concerts are just a few of the festivities for kids and families taking place during Squaw Valley’s Kid-O-Rama.

From activities sure to entertain Squaw Valley’s littlest visitors to action-packed teen snowsports lessons, Kid-O-Rama offers fun for kids of all ages. Be sure to check out Big Truck Night in the Village featuring fire trucks, snowplows and grooming machines, as well as an outdoor kids’ concert and Dance Party on Ice at High Camp.

New this year, Squaw is also unveiling the Kid-O-Rama Kastle, an enormous castle made entirely of snow that is located at the SnoVentures Activity Zone at the base of Squaw Valley. The 5,000 square foot snow castle was built using 30,000 cubic feet of snow and features four towers, three slides and four staircases. The Kid-O-Rama Kastle is free to enter and is now open daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The snow castle will remain open through Kid-O-Rama, weather and conditions permitting. Kid-O-Rama runs during Presidents week from Feb. 15 through 23.

Families looking for the best deal to ski or snowboard over the Presidents week holiday period can purchase a Tahoe Super 4 Pack. The 4 Pack offers four unrestricted days of skiing and riding anytime this season for less than $83 a day for adults, $70 for young adults and seniors and $43 for kids with no blackout dates. Saturday, Feb. 16: Kid-O-Rama Street Party

2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Take to the streets for the Kid-O-Rama Street Party featuring a DJ with records that kids can spin themselves, face painting and glow sticks galore. Located in the Event Plaza at The Village at Squaw Valley.

Saturday, Feb. 16 & Sunday, Feb. 17: SnoVentures Party and S’mores at the Kid-O-Rama Kastle
5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Come check out Squaw Valley’s new Kid-O-Rama Kastle made entirely of snow at SnoVentures. Slide down the castle’s snow slides and enjoy delicious s’mores after aday of skiing or riding.

Saturday, Feb. 16 – Saturday, Feb. 23: Teen Group Lessons
Teens can ski or snowboard Squaw with friends their own age and similar ability levels every morning of Kid-O-Rama (advanced and expert teens only). Price: $89 for lesson only, $149 for lesson and lift ticket. Save $20 by booking online three days in advance. Ages 13-18. Lessons run from 9:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Call (800) 403-0206 to book.

Thursday, Feb. 21: Kid-O-Rama Big Truck Night
3 p.m. to 5 p.m. This night is for everyone who has ever thought trucks are cool. Kids and families can check out the massive machinery that makes the mountain tick and meet the drivers behind the scenes. Located in the Tram Promenade (next to the Funitel) in The Village at Squaw Valley.

Friday, Feb. 22:  Kid-O-Rama Dance Party on Ice
1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Squaw is bringing back a host of roller rink favorites including the hokey pokey and freeze dancing for the Dance Party on Ice. At the Olympic Ice Pavilion located at High Camp. Ice skating costs $12 for adults and $6 for kids including skate rentals, but not including the necessary Tram ticket to get to High Camp.

Saturday, Feb. 23 – Snowbomb Lil’ Air Mountain Festival
11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Come out for the Lil’ Air Mountain Festival – where kids 12 and under can show off their park skills in a safe competition setting. Registration is $10 on the day of the event and there are prizes for all participants. The Lil’ Air Mountain Festival will be held at Snoventures at Squaw Valley. Registration is from 9-10 a.m. and practice is from 10-11 a.m.

All Week:  Kids Crafts and Game Room in The Village
The Kids Crafts and Game Room will be open all week in the Palisades Room in The Village at Squaw Valley. Kids can play ping pong, air hockey, foosball, and cornhole – along with a wide array of arts and crafts. Game room access costs $10 per child, and is complimentary to Village guests.
