Killington, VT – The 3rd Annual Downhill for Diabetes Ski and Snowboard Event will be held this Sunday at Pico Mountain Resort in Killington.
Participants will raise money to ski or snowboard, similar to a donation walk, but in Vermont style. The purpose of this event is to raise money to continue funding research and ultimately come up with a cure for this disease. 100 percent of the proceeds from this event will be donated to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).
The 2nd Annual Downhill for Diabetes Charity event held at Pico Mountain Resort last year was a huge success, raising over $14,500. Participants collect donations from friends, family and neighbors to be eligible for a half price lift ticket for the day, as well as event merchandise. Additional prizes will be awarded for the team, company and individual who raise the most money, as well as many other categories. There will also be a donation race course set up that you can go through and get timed. Prizes will be awarded at the end of the day for the fastest times.
Sign in from 8 to 11 a.m. at the mountain. You must be pre-registered before the event to receive discounts and prizes.
