Vail, CO – When U.S. ski racing sensation Lindsey Vonn tore knee ligaments in a crash while racing super G at the FIS Alpine Ski World Championships in Schladming, Austria in February, she flew back to the U.S. in professional golfer Tiger Woods’ private jet, further fueling widespread speculation that they are in a dating relationship. Vonn has now confirmed that the two are, in fact, an item.
“I guess it wasn’t a well-kept secret but yes, I am dating Tiger Woods,” Vonn posted to her Facebook account on Monday. “Our relationship evolved from a friendship into something more over these past few months and it has made me very happy.
“I don’t plan on addressing this further as I would like to keep that part of my life between us, my family and close friends,” Vonn added.
Vonn, 28, who underwent knee surgery in Colorado following the crash, officially became divorced from Thomas Vonn, a former U.S. Ski Team alpine racer, this past January. Eldrick Tont “Tiger” Woods, 37, at one time the world’s highest paid athlete, achieved infamy in late 2009 and early 2010 when numerous marital infidelities were revealed in the press, leading to a divorce and a televised apology for his behavior in February 2010. He is currently ranked number two in the Official World Golf Ranking.
