Vermont Ski Resorts Offer Back-to-School Savings

Montpelier, VT – Students flock to numerous colleges and universities across the Green Mountain state for higher education, but also for outdoor adventures and to meet like-minded people. Ski resorts in Vermont understand the tight budgets of students, so they offer special deals on college passes to help them start or continue their life long quest to shred. Some are even available to those Millenials just entering the workforce, too.

4.0 The College Pass: Killington Resort, Okemo Mountain Resort, Pico Mountain at Killington and Mount Sunapee Resort have launched 4.0 The College Pass for undergraduate and graduate students for $369 through December 15, 2013. For the upcoming season, the all-new 4.0 The College Pass will offer unlimited skiing and riding at all four resorts and includes five 50-percent off college buddy tickets along with a variety of other discounts. Additionally, this pass features 378 trails or 150 miles of skiable terrain with 8,727 vertical feet, 19 terrain parks and 59 lifts as well as well-known snowmaking and grooming capabilities.

Double Down Pass: Mount Snow and Stratton double down with big savings on big mountain skiing and riding. Double Down is the new all-access pass to southern Vermont’s Stratton and Mount Snow for ages 18-26 with no black-out dates priced at $349 when purchased by December 15, 2013. Threesome College Pass: Mad River Glen and Sugarbush Resort are teaming up for a second year to offer a combined pass for college students. The Threesome College Pass will be available for all students enrolled full-time at accredited colleges. Featuring skiing and riding at three big mountains – Lincoln Peak and Mt. Smuggs Bolton College Pass: This combo is an unrestricted, all access season pass to Smugglers’ Notch and Bolton Valley. Enjoy skiing and riding at two big mountain resorts that average over 300 inches of annual snowfall. Pass holders have access to 148 trails, numerous glades and eight terrain parks. The ski and ride day extends into the evening four nights each week at Bolton Valley with access to 10 trails and three terrain parks under the lights until 8 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. This pass costs $249 when purchased by Halloween 2013.

The 1826 Pass: Mount Snow has revamped its Higher Education Pass. The new unlimited pass is available to anyone 18 to 26 years of age for $319 – even good for those yet to attend college, taking a break or just recently graduated.

Magic College Pass: The Magic College Pass is an all-access, unrestricted season pass for college students for $189. See why the McBrine division of college racing comes back to visit Magic every year for two weekends: a fun laid-back vibe mixed with some no-holds-barred Vermont ski terrain.

Middlebury College Snow Bowl Pass: Middlebury College students can ski or ride the Snow Bowl for just $175. All other full-time students pay $300 and have until November 1 to buy.

Twenty-something Passes

For those just launching into life after graduation, Vermont resorts offer discounted pass options for twenty-somethings who are just entering the work force but want to also enjoy winter on the slopes in Vermont.

Strattitude Pass: Stratton Mountain Resort offers the Strattitude pass for ages 18-29 for $299. There are no black out dates and passes include a subscription to The Red Bulletin, Strattitude Friday events on mountain and during après, plus a chance to be a VIP at a Red Bull event.
