Analomink, PA – Following a sealed-bid auction that closed on Sept. 18, the owners of Pennsylvania’s Alpine Mountain have agreed to sell the ski area to the highest bidder, who promises to continue operating the property as a ski area.

“We are pleased to announce that the high bid submitted at the sealed bid auction for Alpine Mountain Ski Area was accepted by the sellers,” auctioneer Renaissance Auction Group, of Reading, Penn., confirmed in a prepared statement. “The successful bidder is a local investor who plans to continue operating the facility as a family oriented ski and tubing area. Everyone involved is gratified to know that Alpine Mountain will continue to contribute to the economic and recreational diversity of Monroe County and the surrounding area.”

The as-yet-unnamed bidder secured a 500 vertical-foot Pocono ski hill with three chairlifts and two rope tows, 103 acres of ski runs, the base lodge with restaurant facility, a maintenance building, snowmaking equipment, groomers, a ski patrol building, tubing hill and other ski area equipment. It first opened for business in 1984.

The purchase price was not disclosed.
