Timberline to Open Palmer Chairlift This Weekend

Government Camp, OR – Have you ever skied in October? Now’s your chance.

Thanks to ample early season snowfall, Timberline Ski Area on Oregon’s Mount Hood will open its Palmer Express chairlift this weekend.

Recent storms have dumped over two feet of snow above Timberline, giving the resort enough coverage to fire up the lifts and get the season started. Timberline plans to operate two lifts — the Palmer chairlift for skiing and riding, and the Magic Mile chairlift for access – on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., as weather and conditions permit. The only skiable terrain at this time is on the Palmer Snowfield.

Early season discounted lift ticket pricing will be $54 (adults age 18-64), $46 (teen age 15-17), and $36 (junior/senior).

Rates will increase when Timberline is able to open more lifts. The resort plans to continue Friday-through-Sunday operation until more lifts can be opened.
