Bromont (QC), Canada – Quebec’s Ski Bromont earlier this week tested its snow guns, confirming its snowmaking system is fully operational following this year’s investment of nearly C$3.5 million in upgrades to the system and to the ski resort’s grooming equipment.
“We aim to be an international industry leader in snowmaking and trail grooming,” said Charles Désourdy, president and CEO of Ski Bromont. “We expect to get there through the innovative approach of our team, our on-site research and those realized with the Université de Sherbrooke and the outstanding quality of our equipment.”

This year, Ski Bromont’s investments include some 50 new pole-mounted snow guns to augment the thousands already in place at the resort, and two more fan guns for a total of ten. The mountain’s snowmaking capacity has consequently increased to approximately 7,000 gallons of water per minute.
Trail grooming will now go on 22 hours a day, with a total of 8,000 hours of grooming expected to be done over the course of the season. Also, a new snow groomer has been added to Ski Bromont’s fleet. Summer grooming, in preparation for the new season, has already been undertaken using a new TerraTrac mountain tractor, unique of its kind in Quebec.
The resort’s Brome and Cowansville trails have been given a make-over and six snow parks will be available to freestylers in various locations around the mountain. These parks offer varying degrees of difficulty, to allow access to everyone. They have also been located on trails that regularly receive deep snow coverage, to ensure an early opening.
As a final touch, Ski Bromont now has a minibus to shuttle customers between the Versant du Village parking lots and the resort entrance.
Ski Bromont has scheduled its season opening for November 22.
