Schedule Set for 2014 Pop-Tarts U.S. Revolution Tour

Park City, UT – Pop-Tarts? Yes, Pop-Tarts. The potential wisecracks are nearly limitless, but the program itself is a critical ingredient to develop the next generation of American freeskiers and snowboarders.

Kellogg’s has stepped forward with its Pop-Tarts brand to sponsor the U.S. Revolution Tour’s 10th anniversary season. The steppingstone tour has helped launch the careers of some of the current stars U.S. Freeskiing and U.S. Snowboarding who will be competing in Sochi.

“The success of the Pop-Tarts U.S. Revolution Tour has been quality events at the best resorts in America for freeskiing and snowboarding,” says tour director Nick Alexakos. “Each of our tour stops, including Seven Springs, Boreal and Sun Valley, provide the best venues and have valuable past Rev Tour experience to provide athletes with a launching pad to progress their careers.

Over 1,400 skiers and riders will take part in this season’s tour, which will feature stops both East and West in Seven Springs, Penn.; Boreal, Calif.; and Sun Valley, Idaho. Tour alumni include 2014 Olympic Team candidates Kaitlyn Farrington, Matt Ladley, Arielle Gold, Faye Gulini and Sage Kotsenburg, all snowboarders, along with freeskiers Aaron Blunck and Maddie Bowman.

“Much of the talent and depth we’ll see on our 2014 Snowboarding and Freeskiing Olympic Team in Sochi stems from the role the Rev Tour has played for a decade,” confirms USSA Freeskiing and Snowboarding Director Jeremy Forster. “It’s given our U.S. athletes an opportunity to compete in world class venues against their international peers in a stepping stone to the Sprint U.S. Grand Prix, X Games and Olympics.”

Each of the three tour stops will feature halfpipe and slopestyle skiing and snowboarding, with the Boreal event also including skicross and snowboardcross.

The Rev Tour will open in Seven Springs for the second straight year on the eve of the Olympics. Seven Springs has become one of the East’s most notable venues with a 22-foot halfpipe and very progressive slopestyle courses. Action heads in late February to Boreal, home of Woodward Tahoe, for the first time in two seasons. The Rev Tour will wrap up in early March at Sun Valley for the second straight year, with tour champions being crowned.
