Whistler (BC), Canada – Whistler Blackcomb’s annual “Dress Like Santa Day” will take place this Saturday. The first 75 skiers and snowboarders dressed like Mr. or Mrs. Claus to check in at the Garibaldi Lift Company, at the base of Whistler Mountain, will receive a complimentary lift ticket for the day along with a beverage provided by Coca-Cola.
The costume must include red or black pants, or a skirt for Mrs. Claus, a red jacket with white trim, a black belt, a beard for Santa, and of course, a Santa or Mrs. Claus hat. All Santa Day participants are to meet on the patio of the Garibaldi Lift Company at 8 a.m. One free lift ticket per person will be handed out to the first 75 people who meet the costume requirements.
All Santas will upload the Whistler Village Gondola to the Roundhouse Lodge at 8:30 a.m. and ski down to the bottom of Emerald Express as a group for a photo opportunity. After the photos, participating Santas will have a chance to take home some Christmas gifts courtesy of Whistler Blackcomb before skiing and riding off to spread the holiday cheer on the mountain, and enjoy the new Harmony 6 Express chair opening that day.
No registration is necessary for this event; lift tickets will be given out on a first come, first serve basis. Participants with a season pass will receive a one-day lift ticket valid in the month of January.
