Breckenridge to Open New Peak 6 on Christmas Day

Breckenridge, CO – Breckenridge skiers and riders will find a special present under the tree this year, as Vail Resorts, Inc. and Breckenridge Ski Resort have announced that the Colorado resort’s brand new Peak 6 expanded terrain and lifts will open for the first time ever to the public at noon on Christmas Day.

The opening of Peak 6 represents one of the biggest and most notable ski area terrain expansions in North America in the past decade, and will be the first at Breck since the Peak 7 expansion in 2002.

The inaugural season of the Peak 6 expansion will be an important landmark year in Breck’s history, and guests who visit Breckenridge tomorrow will be able to ride the resort’s two brand new chairlifts, the Zendo Chair and Kensho SuperChair, which will both start operations for the first time that day at approximately 12:00 p.m. MST.

Once guests arrive at Peak 6 via the new lifts, they will have access to the expansion’s new above-tree line intermediate and expert terrain.
