Skier Dies in Collision at Keystone

Keystone, CO – A 60-year-old North Carolina man died after colliding with a tree on Thursday at Keystone.

The Summit County Coroner reports that the man, identified as Lee Hurley of Charlotte, was visiting the Colorado ski resort with his family when he lost control on an intermediate trail and struck the tree at about 4:40 p.m. The victim’s cause of death was listed as blunt force trauma.

“Ski Patrol responded and took him to the clinic unfortunately he did not survive the injuries,” the coroner’s office advises.

Hurley was wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.
