Powder Alliance Partners with Ski Nation

Durango, CO – The Powder Alliance has selected Ski Nation as the official mobile app for its coalition of 13 ski resorts in the western U.S. and Canada.

Ski Nation allows users to collect a digital ski pin from any place they ever skied in North America.  Skiers and snowboarders who claim a pin from each of the 13 Powder Alliance resorts are automatically awarded a commemorative “Powder Alliance 13” ski pin for their on-snow history.  It can be shared on Facebook, Twitter, and by email.

The Powder Alliance is also conducting a contest to visit all 13 resorts during the 2014-15 ski season.  Skiers and snowboarders who complete the entire circuit this winter will also be awarded an additional ski pin for the “Wild West Powder Quest.”  Each Powder Alliance resort visited counts as an entry to win a variety of prizes.

“We wanted a mobile app that would work at all the Powder Alliance resorts,” says Scott Clarkson, VP Marketing & Sales at Crested Butte Mountain Resort in Colorado.  “We searched for an app that wasn’t proprietary, had an open platform, and is based on sharing experiences. We partnered with Ski Nation because the app is free, it’s accessible to all skiers and riders and it’s very convenient for the user.”

The Ski Nation mobile app features updated snow conditions, trail reports, trail maps, photos, and other key resort information for more than 970 ski areas in North America. All ski venues are pre-loaded on Ski Nation including downhill alpine areas, cross-country, and even ski jumps. The list includes major resorts, regional areas, local ski hills, and community facilities.

The Ski Nation mobile app may be downloaded for free from the Apple Store or Google Play.
