Winterfest Weekend at Sunday River Includes $5 Night Skiing

Newry, ME – Maine’s Sunday River Resort is celebrating its 6th annual Winterfest Weekend, tomorrow through Sunday, with a visit from Santa, slopeside après parties, fireworks, $5 night skiing, a ski sale to celebrate International Women’s Ski Day, and an evening with mascot Eddy the Yeti.

First, to honor International Women’s Ski Day, Sunday River Sports is offering 20% off women’s skis all day Saturday. Then, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday evening, Sunday River will have $5 night skiing to launch another season of hitting the slopes under the lights. While night skiing, keep an eye out for Eddy the Yeti who will ride down the Chondola with his buddy Santa Claus before heading to the Welcome Center to visit with all kids, good and bad, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Fireworks begin on Saturday in South Ridge at 8:30 p.m. before the party kicks into full gear with Sunday River’s annual Winterfest celebration. This year, Bad Santas and Naughty Elves will descend upon the Foggy Goggle at 9:00 p.m. for a night of raffles, Sunday River gifts, and live psychedelic funk music from Washington, D.C.-based Congo Sanchez.

The deals continue on Sunday with Maine Day, sponsored by The Bank of Maine. Anyone with proof of Maine residency receives a $29 ticket, $20 rental, or a $29 ski or ride package (which includes a ticket and rental equipment).
