Juneau voters agreed in 2012 to extend a temporary one-percent sales tax increase to fund the new building, among other endeavors. Construction crews first broke ground on the new lodge last year.

The bright and spacious building will house Eaglecrest’s lift ticket sales, ski school, equipment rental, adaptive program and some offices this winter.  The second floor opens directly onto snow level in front of the Porcupine chairlift. Expanded space for lockers and the Juneau Ski Club was incorporated into the Eaglecrest Day Lodge.
