Truckee, CA – With at least eight inches of natural snow on the ground from this week’s storm and snow guns blazing, Boreal Mountain Resort has confirmed that it will open for the season this Friday, the first California ski resort to make such an announcement this winter.
Boreal officials have yet to confirm any of the important details such as the number of open lifts and runs, lift ticket prices, or even operating hours, but they have indicated that they’ll have music as well as food and drink specials to celebrate opening day.
While first in California, Boreal will be second in the Lake Tahoe region after Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe, on the Nevada side of the lake, which has announced that it will open this Wednesday.
