Golden (BC), Canada – Strong and regular winter storms have dumped over 200 cm to date at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, making this one of the strongest opening storm cycles since the B.C. ski area’s transformation from the former White Tooth Ski Hill in 2001. Kicking Horse will be one of the first resorts in British Columbia to open and the first on the famed Powder Highway on November 28, a full two weeks ahead of schedule.
“We love El Niño,” says Matt Mosteller, Senior VP Marketing & Resort Experience for Kicking Horse parent Resorts of the Canadian Rockies. “In the past week alone we have received a whopping 130cm of new snow. Winter is here!”
Kicking Horse will open with two bonus preview weekends, November 28th and 29th, and December 5th and 6th, with the full opening taking place as originally scheduled on Friday, December 11th. Opening day is set to feature 4,100 vertical feet of top-to-bottom skiing including Crystal Bowl, Bowl Over, Mid Mountain and the Lower Mountain. Staffers are working to ensure the resort’s Kid’s World is open as well. Lifts open will be the Gondola, Stairway Chair, Catamount and the Magic Carpet. Services will include the Whitetooth Grill in the Daylodge, Eagles Eye, Retail, Rental, Guest Services and Winter Sports School.
