UPDATED: Snowboarder Dies at Jackson Hole

Teton Village, WY – A 23-year-old woman died on Monday following a snowboarding accident at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort in Wyoming.

Authorities with the Teton County Coroner’s Office have identified the victim as Callagy Fahey Ross. Ross had just moved within the month from the Boston area to spend her winter in Jackson with friends, the Teton County Sheriff’s Office indicates.

Following an accident report just before 3:30 p.m. on Monday afternoon, Jackson Hole Ski Patrol responded to the scene on Moran Run, where they located the victim in the trees below the Togwotee Pass traverse. The Sheriff’s office indicates that she collided with a tree while riding alone.

Patrollers transported the victim to transported the victim to St. John’s Clinic in Teton Village, where she was pronounced dead a short time later. The Coroner’s office indicates that she died of blunt trauma to the head and chest.

“The staff at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort join me in expressing our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of the victim,” Jerry Blann, president of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, said in a statement.
