Flumserberg, Switzerland – A 48-year-old man died on Sunday after colliding with a post while night skiing with friends in the Swiss Alps.

According to police in Saint Gallen canton, the unidentified victim was the last in his group to descend towards the Tannenboden area at the Flumserberg resort around 7 p.m. When he failed to arrive, his companions climbed back up and found the victim had collided with a post and a safety net.

Rescuers took the victim to a facility in Tannenbodenalp, where he lost consciousness and died.
