Learn to Ski for $10 at Butternut This Friday

Great Barrington, MA – Massachusetts’ Ski Butternut is one of 120 ski and snowboard resorts across the country that will host a Guinness Book of World Records event in hopes of setting a joint record for the Largest Ski or Snowboard lesson this Friday.

According to Jay Barranger, Ski Butternut’s Snowsports Director, “Ski Butternut is joining with resorts across the country to introduce the great sports of skiing and snowboarding to as many people as possible! We invite anyone age 4 and over to be a part of breaking a Guinness world record by taking a $10 Learn-to-Ski or Learn-to-Snowboard Lesson at Ski Butternut, in the beautiful Berkshires.”

No reservations are required, but if you have questions you can call Ski Butternut at (413) 528-2000 x150. The beginner lesson package, normally priced at $75, includes rental equipment for the day, a first-timer 1.5-hour lesson and a beginner’s area lift ticket.

After getting their equipment and moving outside the guests will be assigned an instructor for their lesson, which starts at 10 a.m. After the lesson the instructor will give the new skier or snowboarder directions on where to go to practice more and what to do next. They’ll also receive a “Return to Learn” envelope that gives them a discount on future lift, lesson and rental packages, valid the rest of this winter.

Barranger concludes, “This is your winter to learn a new sport – embrace it!
