Calgary (AB), Canada – A collision between two skiers at B.C.’s Kicking Horse Mountain Resort a week ago has left one skier dead.
The middle-aged woman, whose name and hometown have yet to be released, was skiing on a lower mountain trail at Kicking Horse last Tuesday morning when she was involved in a collision with another skier. The victim was airlifted to a Calgary-area hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries on Thursday.
Kicking Horse officials indicate that the woman was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
“Our thoughts, prayers and care go out to the family and friends,” said Matt Mosteller, a spokesperson for Kicking Horse owner Resorts of the Canadian Rockies. “Our team is deeply saddened by the news.”
Police continue to investigate the incident.
