Ski Bums Get a New Cheap Lodging Option at Mt. Bohemia

Lac Labelle, MI – Visitors this winter at Mt. Bohemia, long known for its prodigious snowfall and the Midwest’s most challenging skiing and riding, will now be able to overnight at the region’s first ski hostel.

The new budget accommodations are ideally suited for a ski area where 85 percent of visitors are 35 years of age and younger. Resort officials hope that the new hostel will bring a “party vibe” to the resort tucked away at the end of Michigan’s remote Upper Peninsula.

The ski-in, ski-out building will house two coed rooms with 12 beds each, two private bathrooms with showers and a log cabin-motif bar on its upper floor, complementing the resort’s existing North Pole Bar and Restaurant. A 30-person hot tub and 15-person sauna will also be available for après-ski relaxation. Overnight accommodations will cost $45 per night, including breakfast and dinner.

Construction on the new hostel is expected to be completed in December.
