Wilmington, NY – Whiteface Mountain Ski Center, in New York State’s Adirondack Mountains near Lake Placid, will celebrate the 25th edition of its annual Oktoberfest this Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 1-2.
The festival at the ski area’s base features adult Oktoberfest games, tall mugs of beer, delicious food, specialty vendors, adventure zone, fun for the entire family and authentic music. Returning favorites include die Schlauberger, Spitze, Alpenland Taenzer, Schachtelgbirger and the 3 Alphorns. Guests will also find Herbie and his Accord-A-Tones playing inside the resort’s Cloudspin Bar & Grill.
Saturday will also feature a fireworks display, beginning at 7:30 p.m., to celebrate 25 years of Whiteface’s Oktoberfest.
The best admission deal is a special two-day Oktoberfest ticket. Available online only and to persons 21 and over, this $35 ticket gets you two days of festival admission, a ride on the Cloudsplitter Gondola, a commemorative one-liter stein and your first fill of Spaten beer. Single day festival and gondola tickets, for both Saturday and Sunday, are also available online for $20. Admission to the festival, without the gondola, is $16 for adults, $10 for seniors and free for youth 12 and under.
Saturday, Oct. 1
- 12-5:00 p.m. – Cloudsplitter Gondola Rides, authentic German food, beer & music, Adventure Zone activities, crafts and more.
- 5-7 p.m. – The SPATEN Games: challenge your friends to some traditional and other non-traditional beer drinking games and win prizes.
- 7 p.m. – Fireworks Show sponsored by KOA Holiday (note: ALL Oktoberfest ticket holders, including those with single day tickets, may enter the festival on Saturday night to enjoy the fireworks show for the 25th Anniversary)
Sunday, Oct. 2
- 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. – Cloudsplitter Gondola Rides, authentic German food, beer and music, Adventure Zone activities, crafts and more.
