Telluride Offers New Backcountry Guided Skiing

Telluride, CO – Colorado’s Telluride Ski Resort has announced the development and implementation of a new guided backcountry skiing program. Terrain in both Bear Creek and Alta Lakes adjacent to the ski area is now accessible for guided backcountry skiing with Telluride Backcountry guides.nWorking with the Telluride Ski Patrol’s snow safety department, the guide service will determine backcountry accessibility and travel on a daily basis. This program was developed in conjunction with a U.S. Forest Service special use permit.

Guests participating in the guided backcountry program can set up an itinerary and book a trip through Telluride Eco Adventures, located in the Franz Klammer breezeway in the Mountain Village or by calling (970) 728-7300. Pricing ranges from $275 for a semi-private full day to $395 for a semi-private full day on a technical route. A full-day private session costs $625, plus $95 per person for up to three additional participants.

Participants must be expert skiers and snowboarders. All backcountry equipment, including shovel, beacon and probe, is available at Eco Adventures.
