Park City, UT – Following 23 inches of new snowfall this week, and with additional snow in the forecast, Park City Mountain Resort (PCMR) today announced that it will extend the Utah resort’s ski and snowboard season by one additional week, until Apr. 18.n“Thanks to the recent return to winter and an 87-inch settled base depth, the current conditions are the best they’ve been all year, which is why we’ve decided to stay open for an additional week,” said Peter Curtis, president and general manager of Park City Mountain Resort. “We will continue to deliver an exceptional guest experience, maintaining our grooming standards and high-level of guest service.”

Beginning Monday, Apr. 12, the resort will operate eight lifts including PayDay, Crescent, Bonanza, Silverlode, Thaynes, Jupiter, First Time and Three Kings. Pick’n Shovel, PayDay and King’s Crown terrain parks will also be open. Lift ticket pricing for the extended week of the season will be $65 for adults ages 13 through 64, $45 for seniors and $40 for children ages 7-12. The Canyons and Deer Valley Resort season pass holders will be able to purchase a single-day lift ticket to the PCMR for $25 when they show their current 2009-10 season pass.

Park City Mountain Rentals will be fully operational through Apr. 18; however, the Demo Center and Ski Valet will close as regularly scheduled on April 11.

Neither of Park City Mountain’s neighboring ski resorts, The Canyons and Deer Valley, plan to match PCMR’s season extension. Libby Dowd, communications director at The Canyons, indicated that snow conditions there would likely enable extending the season, no such extension will take place. Erin Grady, communications director at Deer Valley, said on Friday that extending their ski season would be unlikely despite the new snowfall.
