Improvements at Gore for Next Ski Season Include New Glades, Boardercross Course

North Creek, NY – Staffers at New York’s Gore Mountain Ski Center are hard at work this summer developing on-mountain improvements for the 2010-11 ski and snowboard season.nTwo new glades will greet skiers and riders at Gore next winter. “Barkeater” will be a massive new gladed run on Burnt Ridge Mountain that will connect the top of the high-speed quad with the Pipeline Bridge. A second new glade, located off “Wild Air” will give skiers and riders a wooded alternative to Gore’s largest terrain park.

Meanwhile, a new skier/boardercross on Gore’s “Lower Sleighride” run will entertain guests with banked turns and rollers.

At the same time, progress continues towards Gore Mountain’s interconnect with the historic North Creek Ski Bowl above town. The bridge on the “Eagle’s Nest” trail will soon be completed, and excavators are at work seven days a week building a work road on the Hudson Chair lift line.

As of July 17, Gore will be open every Saturday and Sunday through October 10 for summer activities. Several new biking trails have been added and there are three mountain biking camps to choose from. The annual Harvest Fest will take place this year October 9-10, celebrating Columbus Day Weekend with live entertainment, Adirondack vendors, a 5K trail run, kids activities and more.
