Whitetail Investing $4M to Improve Experience for Mid-Atlantic Skiers

Mercersburg, PA – Coming off the best season in the ski resort’s 19-year history, Whitetail Resort is currently gearing up for what will be a very busy off-season on the mountain with $4 million worth of improvements, including a new ski run for the 2010-11 winter season.nIn addition to the new 1,800 foot beginner trail, the ski area just north of the Baltimore-Washington metro area will add increased snowmaking capacity, upgrades to the Marketplace dining area, a new Prinoth BR350 groomer, and a new clubhouse at Whitetail Golf Resort.

“At Whitetail Resort we continue to focus on the guest experience as we
undertake our upgrades for the 2010-11 winter ski and snowboard season. In addition to
the major improvements to our ski operation, we are investing in our spring and summer
operations to help establish Whitetail Resort as the premier four season resort in the
region,” said Whitetail Resort President and General Manager, Don MacAskill.

Ledgewood, the new beginner trail, will be situated adjacent to the existing Snow Park trail. This new run will serve as additional teaching terrain for the ski and snowboard school. Whitetail officials are covering the new trail with 15 brand new Techno-Alpin fan guns for snowmaking.

Also this summer, Whitetail Resort will be upgrading the Marketplace dining area
inside the base lodge. These improvements include an expanded grill area and a new
bakery that will serve fresh pastries to skiers and snowboarders throughout the season.

In addition to the winter improvements, Whitetail Resort will also be
constructing a 9,500 square foot clubhouse at the Whitetail Golf Resort. This new
clubhouse will offer golfers a fully stocked pro shop featuring the latest in golf equipment
and clothing, full service dining room and snack bar, a meeting room as well as outdoor
patios for barbecues and special functions. Construction of the new clubhouse is
scheduled to begin this fall.
