Mark Erekson Named Snowbird Director of Group Sales

Snowbird, UT – Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort President Bob Bonar has named Mark Erekson the Utah resort’s new Director of Group Sales.nWith more than 35 years of service in the sales, marketing, management and destination travel industry, Erekson will oversee the Group Sales team responsible for booking meetings and conventions in the Snowbird Conference Center. Ruth Naccarato, the former Director of Group Sales, will take over as a National Sales Manager for the Washington, D.C. market.

“Mark’s leadership and vast experience with promoting Utah are going to be key in positioning Snowbird as a world-class mountain meetings destination,” Bonar said. “We are thrilled to have him on board, and extremely grateful for the tremendous dedication and energy that Ruth brought to the position.”

Erekson comes to Snowbird having most recently held positions as the Corporate Director of Sales and Marketing for the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City, as well as the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the San Diego North Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Naccarato served as the Director of Group Sales for more than six years at Snowbird, drawing many elite businesses to Snowbird under her tenure. In her new role as National Sales Manager, Naccarato will be primarily focused on the Washington D.C. market.

Snowbird recently completed a renovation of the 7,800-square-foot Cliff Lodge Ballroom, which is part of the resort’s 50,000 total square feet of meeting and banquet space. Snowbird’s Cliff Spa is currently being renovated as are the other meeting rooms in the Cliff Lodge.
