Aspen, CO – Aspen will once again host The Meeting, Sept. 23-26, as snowsports filmmakers, athletes, sponsors, media and fans will gather pre-season in this famed Colorado ski resort town. The Limelight Lodge in Aspen is this year’s headquarters for the event.nSituated across from Wagner Park and steps away from the renowned downtown landmarks and hot spots, The Limelight Lodge will host the sixth annual event that kicks off the coming winter for the ski and snowboard industry each season. The latest snow films will be screened while parties and the fourth annual D&E Fashion Show will surround the films. In addition, private sessions with guest speakers and athletes will allow for spirited discussion on the state of the winter sports industry.
The eighth annual NEPSA Video Awards will launch The Meeting on Thursday, Sept. 23, at the Wheeler Opera House in Aspen. The NEPSA Awards provides an opportunity for athletes and filmmakers to work together in crafting and showing their own ski and snowboard movie while competing for a cash prize. This year there are three themes to choose from: Ski School, Shreddin’ While Sleddin’, and Super Heroes. Filmmakers will be judged equally on each theme and are asked to pick one theme and stick with it. There is $3,500 in prize money on the line for the 2010 NEPSA Awards.
