Silverton Increases Uphill Capacity

Silverton, CO – Colorado’s Silverton Mountain ski area is increasing uphill capacity this winter on the resort’s only chairlift.nSilverton owners, Aaron and Jen Brill, are doing so by mounting more chairs on the cable. By reducing the spacing between chairs the ski area can eliminate the lift line that sometimes forms for the first chair of the day.

Silverton is also making unguided skiing affordable for Western Slope residents with a $399 season pass this winter. Unguided skiing regularly costs $49 a day, and Silverton will add extra December unguided dates again this winter. The pass also includes half-price heli-drops on standby, an additional 14 free ski days at other Colorado Resorts (four days at A-Basin, five days at Monarch and five at Loveland), and $79 guided skiing, also on a standby basis. Once a predetermined number of passes have been sold the price returns to its regular rate of $799.
