Truckee, CA – Lake Tahoe-area snowcat skiing operator Pacific Crest Snowcats will expand its operations this winter to include helicopter skiing and snowboarding.nIn concert with HeliTahoe, Pacific Crest Heli-Guides will access over 100,000 acres of remote privately owned ski terrain along the Sierra Crest this winter, the first helicopter skiing operation in decades in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. This new operation has been founded by Dave Rintala, head guide at Alaska Backcountry Adventures operating on Thompson Pass near Valdez, Alaska, and founder of Pacific Crest Snowcats.

Located minutes from the ski resorts of the North Tahoe region, Pacific Crest will be flying from the Truckee airport daily with weather-day backup provided by Pacific Crest Snowcats on its 3,000 acres of terrain located between Squaw Valley USA and Sugar Bowl Resort.

Groups of four are required to fly and Pacific Crest Heli-Guides will limit their operations to 16 guests per day. A full-day heli ski trip includes safety gear, guide and lunch. The base rate of $899 per person is based on 1.2 hours of helicopter flight time split between the group, typically enough for a full day of skiing and riding. Additional runs are always available.
