3rd Annual Swap and Zozo Fest This Month at Ohio’s Snow Trails

Mansfield, OH – Ohios’ Snow Trails ski, snowboard, and snow tubing resort will host its 3rd Annual Swap & Zozo Fest Oct. 29-31. The weekend festivities will encourage families to enjoy time in the outdoors together and prepare for the coming winter season.nThe Swap will open at 3 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 29 for those who will register items, such as apparel and equipment, for sale and will be open for the public to begin to browse the selection. Each item registered for the Swap will cost $1, with a 20% sales commission benefiting the non-profit Snow Trails Ski Patrol. Commissions gained from sales will help the patrol purchase safety equipment and supplies for use during the winter season.

The Swap will close at 9 p.m. Friday, reopening the next morning at 10 a.m. along with Zozo Fest booths and the Snow Trails Ski Shop. The Snow Trails Ski Patrol will fire up the grill, serving bratwurst along with cold adult beverages and sodas beginning at 10:30 a.m. outside the main lodge.

Fest booths will include ski industry exhibitors, whose effort during the winter months help to introduce people to the sport of skiing, snowboarding, and snow tubing. Other Fest booths will showcase winter employment opportunities at Snow Trails, Racing programs for the season, The Adaptive Adventure Sports Coalition (TAASC), and others.

The Zozo Party will begin at 7 p.m. when The Last Run Bar will open for beverages, as the patrollers set up their grill on the back deck of the main lodge to continue to serve brats. The Zozobra Bonfire has become a family fun event and will take place after dusk. The tradition surrounding the burning of the Zozobra is that it brings a snowy ski season to Ohio’s Possum Run Valley.

The Swap will continue for a third and final day on Halloween, Sunday, from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. For those who entered items in the Swap, pick-up of unsold items should take place between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m., with payment to sellers for items sold at the same time.
