Mountain Creek Appoints New VP and General Manager

Vernon, NJ – Mountain Creek has announced the promotion of 15-year resort veteran, Joe Hession to Vice President, General Manager. Hession began his career at age 14 as a parking attendant at Vernon Valley Great Gorge, now known as Mountain Creek, and at the age of 30 has already had an extraordinary career in the ski industry with the experience and learning of someone 20 years his senior.nHession has steadily worked his up the ranks, holding nearly every role in every resort department to become one of the most valuable assets at Mountain Creek – from Rental Technician to Rental Manager, Food & Beverage Manager to Lodging Director, and from Director of Mountain Operations to his current role as VP, General Manager. Resort officials say that each area he has touched has improved in guest satisfaction, employee satisfaction, and contribution to the bottom line.

Hession was the youngest of Intrawest’s 22 Six Sigma Black Belts, is a passionate skier, snowboarder, terrain park enthusiast, certified ski patroller, and event producer.

Concurrently, Mountain Creek also announced the promotion of Hugh Reynolds from Event Manager to Sales and Marketing Manager. A snowboarder, Reynolds will be overseeing the day-to-day operations of Mountain Creek’s Sales and Marketing offices.
