McCall, ID – Brundage Mountain is bustling with activity as crews work to prepare the resort for its 50th Season of winter operations. All winter long, Brundage Mountain will be celebrating this landmark with a flurry of family-friendly events and special deals.nHighlights include a special “50 Days of Deals” event running through Dec. 8, featuring a season pass price rollback, and a free holiday “Light Up the Night” celebration on Dec. 29, featuring live music, a torchlight parade and an après-ski fireworks show on the mountain.

More events are planned throughout the season, including a “Retro Day” in February and a fireside chat designed for community members to come share their stories of what Brundage Mountain has meant to them.
“Brundage Mountain remains a family-owned ski resort, with strong ties to our local community. It’s important to our owners that we do something special to thank our loyal visitors,” said resort spokesperson, April Russell.
Brundage is currently owned by the DeBoer family, the descendants of Warren Brown, one of the three original founders of Brundage Mountain. The ski area was designed by famed Norwegian expatriate skier Corey Engen at the urging of Jack Simplot, founder of the J.R. Simplot Co. food processing and agriculture company in Boise.
Brundage Mountain is asking long-time skiers and snowboarders to share their memories, photographs, and stories so they can be captured in an upcoming book about Brundage Mountain’s history. Author Eve Chandler is currently interviewing the men and women who built and skied at Brundage Mountain throughout the five decades of its operation.

Brundage picked up its first real snow of the season overnight, with an inch reported at the base and up to four inches at the summit. While precipitation at the base elevation turned to rain this morning, colder air is expected to accompany another impulse moving into the region tonight.
