American Airlines Offering Reduced Fares to Vail Resorts Season Passholders

Vail, CO – In what may be a first for the ski industry, American Airlines and Vail Resorts have partnered to offer exclusive deals to the ski resort company’s Epic Pass, Epic 7-Pack and Summit Pass holders.nSeason pass holders of Vail Resorts’ Epic Pass, Epic 7-Pack and Summit Pass can receive 10 percent off American Airlines flights to Vail, Denver and Eagle, Colo., or Reno, Nev., purchased between Jan. 4-18, 2011, for travel between Jan. 18-Feb. 16, 2011. They can also earn double miles on flights to Vail, Denver and Reno, purchased between Mar. 1-14, 2011, for travel between Mar. 20-Apr. 24, 2011. American is also offering these same passholders 20 percent off a new, individual American Airlines Admirals Club one-year membership purchased between December 2010 and April 2011.

Vail Resorts operates Vail Mountain, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge and Keystone in Colorado, and Heavenly on the south shore of Lake Tahoe straddling the California/Nevada border.

American is also launching the “Make It Epic” sweepstakes to highlight the promotion, which is open to all customers with no purchase required through Nov. 15. One Grand Prize consists of two Epic Passes, 500,000 AAdvantage miles (enough for the winner and a guest to visit all six Vail Resorts ski areas), five three-night hotel stays for two people, a one-year Admirals Club membership, free ski rentals; and ground transportation from the airports to the resorts. Ten first prizes including one Epic Pass and 25,000 AAdvantage miles will also be given away.

To register for the sweepstakes, customers simply visit www.aa.com/epic and fill out the online registration form to receive their entry. Customers can earn up to two extra entries by either purchasing a flight on AA.com to Vail, Denver or Reno by Nov. 15, 2010, for travel through April 2011, or by purchasing an Epic Pass by Nov. 15, 2010.
