Taos, NM – If your idea of heaven is an epic day on the slopes followed by a fabulous dinner at a discounted price, pack up your skis and appetite and head to New Mexico at the end of February.nAfter a successful debut last year, New Mexico Restaurant Week expands statewide in 2011, kicking off in Taos Feb. 27 to Mar. 6 with a mountain of enticing eat, ski and stay discounts. The Sunday-to-Sunday celebrations continue in another New Mexican ski town, Santa Fe (Mar. 6-13); Albuquerque (Mar. 13-20) and Las Cruces (Mar. 20-27). Participating restaurants in other communities, including Taos Ski Valley and the ski resort of Angel Fire, will be included in the nearest regional Restaurant Week.
In addition to New Mexico’s iconic cuisine, diners will have the opportunity to experience a diverse world of flavors and restaurant styles, at prices to please every budget. Three-course, prix-fixe dinners will be offered in four categories: $25 for two for casual-dining restaurants, and $20, $30 or $40 per person at other restaurants.
Skiers and other out-of-town visitors will be able to take advantage of special rates at several hotels, giving them an opportunity to sample several restaurants and attend one of the many cooking classes, wine tastings, and other activities offered in conjunction with New Mexico Restaurant Week. Taos Ski Valley will also be offering ski packages to coincide with the event.
All participants’ prix-fixe menus, contact information and maps are listed on www.nmrestaurantweek.com, along with hotel discounts, daytime events, sweepstakes sign-up and more.
