Truckee, CA – Vail Resorts, Inc. on Wednesday announced the appointment of Bill Rock as the new chief operating officer of Northstar-at-Tahoe Resort in California, which the company acquired from Booth Creek Ski Holdings earlier this month. Rock will assume responsibility for all ski mountain and village operations associated with Northstar-at-Tahoe and will report directly to Blaise Carrig, co-president of Vail Resorts’ Mountain Division.n“Bill brings 14 years of experience in the mountain resort industry, including mountain operations, lodging, real estate development, association management, municipal services and commercial real estate,” said Carrig. “Bill has a deep understanding of how to drive both guest service and profitability in the mountain resort business, as well as how to develop strong community partnerships. I am confident that with Bill’s leadership, we will drive performance and growth for Northstar in the years to come.”

Rock began his career in the mountain resort industry at Bristol Mountain Resort in Canandaigua, N.Y., directing marketing and sales for the ski resort from 1996-1998.
