Christy Sports Names New Vice President of Finance

Lakewood, CO – Christy Sports, one of the largest ski and snowboard retailers in the Rocky Mountain region, has hired Liz Avery to serve as the company’s vice president of finance. Avery will be responsible for the overall direction of the company’s finance, accounting and treasury functions.nAvery brings more than 20 years of experience in the finance industry and an extensive knowledge regarding accounting and treasury controls.

Prior to joining Christy Sports, Avery was director of finance and accounting at The Shane Company, where she oversaw all aspects of the finance department including the company’s banking relationships. Previously, she was the assistant controller at Coram Healthcare, where she implemented control documentation required under SOX. Avery has also held finance/accounting positions with other companies including: Big O Tires, Xcel Energy, and Grant Thornton. She received her Master’s of Science in finance from the University of Colorado at Denver and a Bachelor’s of Business Administration with a concentration in accounting from the University of New Mexico. She holds an active CPA license in Colorado and New Mexico.

Avery will report to O’Winter and will also oversee the company’s human resource department. As the vice president of finance, all aspects of the company’s finance department will report to her including nearly 10 direct or indirect reports.
