Killington Mountain School Names K.C. Gandee Snowboard Director and Head Coach

Killington, VT – Killington Mountain School (KMS) recently announced that Kevin “K.C.” Gandee has been appointed to the post of Snowboard Program Director and Head Coach for KMS and the Killington Winter Sports Club (KWSC)/KMS Competition Program. Evan Ricker returns this winter as snowboard coach for the Vermont-based KWSC/KMS program as well.nGandee was the head coach for the Ross Powers Snowboard Camp at Okemo Mountain from 2004-2009 and is an AASI Certified Level 3 instructor. He sits on the PSIA-E/AASI Eastern Board of Examiners and was selected as one of six members of AASI Snowboard Team Member from 2004-08. Prior to joining KMS this season, Gandee was the Recreation Facilities Manager at Jackson Gore at Okemo Mountain Resort in nearby Ludlow, Vt. He holds a B.S. in Management and Organizational Development from Eastern Mennonite University.

Evan Ricker, a USASA Level 100 certified snowboard coach, returns to the KWSC/KMS Competition Program again this season. He holds a degree in Business Administration from Castleton State College, where he served as president of the Free Snowboard Club, where he created the first on-campus snowboard park. Ricker will coach the freestyle portion of the snowboard program.

The Killington Winter Sports Club/Killington Mountain School Competition Programs are the primary development pipeline for the Killington Mountain School. These programs are administered by KMS in conjunction with the Killington Winter Sports Club and aim to create an appropriate environment for the development of competitive athletes who are shaped by the ideals of athleticism and who are inspired by a lifelong love of their sport.

The KWSC/KMS Coaching Staff teach athletes how to be safe on and around the mountain, while supporting and sustaining each participant with instruction, information and encouragement at all levels. The multi-snow sport program offers a two-day program that starts the first weekend of December and ends the last weekend in March and a three-day program that starts the first full weekend in November and ends the last weekend in March.
