New Trails Double In-Bounds Ski Terrain at Northern Canada’s Powder King

Pine Pass (BC), Canada – Staffers at Powder King Resort, in Pine Pass in far northern British Columbia, were busy this summer clearing eight new ski runs in time for this winter, effectively doubling the ski area’s terrain.nSeven of these new runs cover beginner to intermediate terrain. The longest run is a new beginner run that is 6km, or nearly three and three-quarter miles in length. Canada’s National Ski Cross Team is training at Powder King again this season, and resort officials have prepared a permanent Snow Cross course for their use. Once they have finished training the course will be de-tuned for public use.

The addition of new runs has doubled the inbounds terrain available at the Resort. With the new terrain operators have also brought in a second groomer to work the hill nightly.

Powder King operates four days a week, Thursdays through Sundays, but the resort may be rented to private groups on its dark days on an all-inclusive basis. They also have access to a new meal plan this winter, serving individual plates or a buffet style meal to groups.
