Skier Safe After Unplanned Overnight on Washington’s Mt. Spokane

Spokane, WA – A skier was located unharmed on Sunday after spending the night out of bounds on Mt. Spokane.nWayne Schuh, 66, of Nine Mile Falls, Wash., was cold and wet but otherwise uninjured when he walked to a nearby home on Blanchard Creek Road Sunday morning seeking assistance. He was reported missing around 10:30 a.m. Saturday morning while spending a day skiing alone at the resort in eastern Washington.

Schuh called a friend by cell phone to report that he was lost. The Mt. Spokane Ski Patrol and local search and rescue organizations spent the day Saturday searching unsuccessfully for Schuh. The search was called off Saturday evening and was set to resume Sunday morning.
