Franconia Notch, NH – Ski patrollers encountered their second fatal accident at New Hampshire’s Cannon Mountain ski area in a week on Sunday.nJoshua Vigeant, 31, of Pembroke, N.H., was snowboarding Cannon Mountain with a group of friends early Sunday afternoon when he was found dead on the lower Turnpike trail, which was closed on Sunday. He was not believed to have been wearing a helmet.
There were no witnesses to Vigeant’s accident. An investigation into the cause of death is ongoing.
A week earlier, a 19-year-old Massachusetts man was killed while skiing Cannon’s Zoomer liftline trail when he lost control and slid into rocks in a closed area.
