I have mtb in Arizona and the deserts of Utah. I carry 3 times the amount of water with me. I always ran out. Oh these rides were early mornings temps in upper 70/low 80’s.
I had a conversation with my doc friend about dehydration. He said , when exercising you loose as much liquid breathing...
My youngest daughter went to school in New Orleans. Go there in Aug. when you exit the airport it feels like someone wrapped you in hot wet towel.
Been to Hawaii twice. Damn I like that place.
Coldest place I have been to, London in March.
MTB..a subject i'm well versed on...I have biked coast to coast. Florida has some of the gnarliest biking in the country..yep I said Florida.. I have had my worst crashes and injuries biking there. Yes the biking is relatively flat , but the builders do some incredible things with the terrain...
Now that I have bashed Fla. there are some positives
Pleasant winter temp
Then sun. Grey skies in the north east get old and depressing
And the fishing. One of my passions.
I have worked as a chef for 27 yrs and at families industrial laundry for 10 yrs before that. I’m accustomed to the heat and humidity. Just need ac to sleep and eat.
What turned me off of Fla the last visit was the unbridled development and the total lack of any environmental consideration...
NOT going to Fla for the winter!!!
Last visit left a bad taste in my mouth
