just wanted to post a quick thanks to the Marcs and Tony and Jeff for all the great advice.
we had a great 4 days and skied most everything you guys recommended with the exception of the Catherine?s Area. Hit Alta on Friday (Yellow Trail, East Greeley, Ballroom, etc, 7.5 hours of skiing that day!) Snowbird on Sat (a lot of time in the Little Cloud Area) and then...
As you all know we had awesome snow on Sun/Mon. We spent much of snowy sunday in the trees of West Rustler after coming over from Snowbird thru Mineral Basin and then on Monday, I had booked a semi-private for the morning (BBPD + MLKD = Lift Liiiiiines ) so it was the Ski School line for me @ 9:15a and we got a lot of the fresh tracks on Ballroom, Baldy Shoulder, and off of Wildcat.
I actually had opportunity to say to some other skiers: ?Please don?t block the gate!? on the way out the Baldy Shoulder traverse, and was (thanks to you guys) ready for those dips on the high traverse on Monday?s frenzied powder day. Also, I was definitely low down on the food chain in my group of 12 skiers which include alumni from the U of Colo ski team and an instructor from WInter Park... On Sunday at Alta they were following me the whole time: ?Where should we go next Mike?? Thanks to your advice, I was able to never disappoint, (hard to do on those days!) have improved greatly as a skier, and have earned new cred with some old and new friends!
Only bummer was that I was unable to get a glimpse of those knees and those skis.
Next time!
