30,500 ft vert in 6 hours at snowbasin with the Greek Peak crew. Nuff said. Skied Mach Looney entire time keeping up with the gondola for three runs...

BobbyD and i have done back to back to back to back trams at the bird (this is roughly 12K verts in about 50 minutes)......wouldve had the 5th if they didnt close the doors as we were walking up....basically that day, if we kept going, we couldve covered your 6 hours (30K+) in about 3 hours max. LOL.....
Its fun to ski fast sometimes.

We actually did it in 5 cause we forgot to subtract the hour for lunch. Not all our runs were just groomers. Trust me, it was a blue collar ski day...And Matt, you DIDN'T keep going, a case of would've, could've, should've...LOL myself!

I still dont know if I buy it and it certainly wouldnt be "enjoyable" skiing. It "might" be possible, but im still on the fence.
Would be more easily believed if they had said they were at the bird....6 minute trams and all..
I'd say collins runs you up at about 6-7 minutes bottom to top.
BTW ive done MANY 30K plus half days (well a little after 2pm) at the bird...heck ive done 18K before noon in mineral, and that was a pow day.

ok so to roughly answer patrick.
Alta vert 2020
call it roughly 6 minutes to top on collins.
Call it 6 minutes down (way conservative, try more like 4) but for arguments sake lets leave it at 6 down.
Thats 12 minutes per run.
To get 80K you'd need to do roughly 39 or so runs.
At 12 minutes per run thats 468 minutes
That works out to 7.8 hours.
This would make it VERY tough to do in Alta's hours of operation, since they arent open that long.
Now if you take my less conservative estimate of the time it takes to get down you are making 10 minute laps and that puts it back into the realm of possibilities. Makes it more like 6.5 hours.
Again...this would NOT BE A FUN SKI DAY....likely it would be to prove a point, but on paper it is possible, very possible.
