Spent the day with Mr Guido.
Backside and catherines had the best snow.
Not very busy.

We didn’t go into Catherine’s. Where is the backside? Edit. I see it on the map now. We were over that side until about 11am and I’m sure it was shut at that time? Did it open later?
Do you ski around the Wildcat area?

Even though I’ve done about ten days at Alta over the years I don’t know the hill really well. I’ve never skied it with a local so I probably miss all the good bits.
One of these years I will arrange to be in the area when @Tony Crocker does his Iron Blosam week in the hope that I might get the guided tour of Altabird. Another option would be @jimk.

Guido was your best bet and a delightful host in person. It's highly annoying that while he doesn't post here, he doesn't even scan occasionally. If he had bothered, he would have known for at least a month when sbooker would be in Utah.

At any rate, I'm not impressed with the snow in the background of Guido's picture. Too bad he's not here for me to :smileyvault-stirthepot: about how much better Mammoth is right now.

At any rate Alta has a long learning curve and now is not the best time to undertake it.
