Nice day...great snow found everywhere. Thirds was the rotd. Skied with TeleJon in the morning, and then had the wifey bring up the grom for her first day on skis ON SNOW...

Had a pizza at GMD for lunch then it was time to suit up...

Then she got bored and it was time to hit the gnar gnar...
Deep Powder House tow rope here we come...

She lasted about an hour and on our last run an out of control foreigner slammed into the back of me right at the bottom of the Deep Pow House tow...he ran into the fences after slamming me. I was between the baby and him so no harm to her, but she was a bit shaken..all in all... great first day out..

She'll be a ripper before you know it.

How old is she? Ready to try a leash soon?

2yrs 4 months, and yes I have a leash/harness. I am also going to use one of those "stick" training tools. They hold onto it. This was just her first day so wanted to "take it easy"...

as soon as she gets the, stand up on your own thing, we'll be slapping the harness on.

Very cute photos (and love the pink ski suit for her!!). I'm envious of you. I started my own daughter at almost exactly that age. Although it is a lot of work teaching kids that age to ski, it is worth it in spades. Some of the best times of my life were skiing with my daughter when she was 4,5,6, and 7. It varies from kid to kid, but some kids take right to it at age 2 1/2 and other kids, it may be 5 or 6 before their leg strength and coordination kick in to allow them to make turns and stop. Hard to predict. I tried to use the leash and harness, but my daughter hated it, so I gave up early in the process. I swear, though, by the "ski kiddie lift" (see link: http://www.applerise.com/merchant2/merc ... _Code=1600) whick is a harness with a handle built into the back. Makes it much easier to pick up the child, when they fall down or to lift them up onto a chairlift. Saves your back alot of stress. I also tried the device that holds the tips of their skis together but that did not work for me either. The "ski bar" looks like an interesting aid for helping the kid down the hill too. I think when she gets a little older, a lesson with a ski instructor who specializes in teaching kids, is well worth it. For many kids, they pay attention more and are more motivated to learn from a third person, other than a parent. My own daughter advanced more in a one-hour lesson with a good instructor than she did with me in two years!!

Good luck and have fun. You're hopefully introducing her to a lifetime of enjoyment. =D>

Outstanding! Very cool pix and documentation of your daughter's first experience. Believe me, the time will go fast and soon your daughter will be skiing faster and further than you! My youngest, 12 yrs old, is now chomping at my heels and it is a great feeling to be able to ski at full throttle with him. Sooner than you can imagine.....
